Agoura Orthodontics proud to be the Top Provider of Invisalign on the West Coast. Invisalign makes it possible to perfect your smile without ever having to wear braces!

How does this work? Well, the Invisalign system begins with a digital scan of your teeth, no gunky impressions are needed! We then take the digital images and input them into Invisalign proprietary software to create 3-D models of your smile with a high level of precision. We then use this model to design your treatment plan movement by movement.

Each movement in the treatment plan is then translated to an aligner that is designed to apply just the necessary amount of pressure to your teeth to slowly shift them to their desired position.

The aligners are clear and completely removable. There are no adjustments to be made since each movement of your teeth is already designed and will be accomplished by moving to the next aligner in the series which means fewer in-office appointments. Since the aligners are removable, you will be able to eat and drink whatever you want without fear of damaging your appliances. You will also be able to continue to use your normal brushing and flossing technique, just remember to brush your aligners too!

And the star feature of Invisalign, as implied by the name, the aligners are invisible!

Invisalign recognizes Agoura Orthodontics as an expert and has designated the practice as an Invisalign Elite Premier Provider, this means that we are among the top 1% of Invisalign Providers. Schedule a consultation today to find out if Invisalign is right for you!

Accelerated Orthodontics

One of the first questions all potential patients ask us is “How long will I have to wear my braces?” While the answer varies case by case, all patients want their treatment to be as short as possible. Well, now it is possible to accelerate your treatment time to achieve a healthier, straighter smile in less time than you ever thought possible.

This is where Acceledent comes in, this state-of-the-art technology will shorten the amount you spend in braces by speeding up your results.

Acceledent Aura relies on patented SoftPulse technology to speed up tooth movement by 50%.

Accedent Aura is FDA approved to accelerate tooth movement during orthodontic treatment. You only need to use it 20 minutes a day to speed up the bone remodeling process.

Acceledent Aura works by delivering exceptionally gentle micropulses—the pressure delivered is less than the pressure you exert on your teeth when chewing food.

While most people associate Orthodontics as being a relatively new field of dentistry, the reality is that orthodontics dates back to the time of ancient Greece. Of course, much has changed in the way orthodontics is practiced since then and the field continues to evolve. The largest technological advances have occurred in the last 20 years.

The result is a fast, efficient, and comfortable treatment that is available to children, teenagers, and adults. If you have heard negative experiences from two decades ago or more for example, please know that the treatment options available today have vastly improved.

The most recent improvements to the field of orthodontics have allowed patients to experience treatment options that are more efficient and comfortable than ever before thanks to high-technology wires that work with gentler forces and smaller brackets manufactured with precise engineering design.

At Agoura Orthodontics, we are proud to welcome innovation that allows us to tailor treatment plans that fit our patient’s needs exactly. Our treatment options include modern braces that do not require regular adjustments and aesthetic options such as invisible braces and clear aligners to keep you looking like yourself. If you want to improve your smile, give us a call to schedule your initial consultation where we will create a custom treatment plan based on your goals and needs.

During your initial consultation, we will go over all of your options and answer any questions you may have to make sure that we design a treatment plan that is completely tailored to YOU.

Early Interceptive Treatment

When we think about people getting orthodontic treatment, we often think of kids in middle school and teens in high school. But sometimes, patients fall outside this age range. This is the case when interceptive treatment is needed.

When envisioning the average orthodontic patient, I think most people picture a middle-school or high-school student. However, many of our patients fall outside of this age range. Patients who undergo interceptive treatment for example are younger children between the ages of 7 and 10.

Interceptive treatment is recommended for patients who present severe orthodontic abnormalities that are best treated early to avoid more invasive corrective procedures in the future such as permanent tooth extractions or orthognathic surgery.

How do you know if your child needs interceptive treatment? With an early screening of course! We recommend that you schedule an orthodontic screening by age 7 which is when most children have their back molars in place which will allow the orthodontist to evaluate the long-term tooth and bite relationship. In most cases, all is well and we will ask you to schedule your child’s next appointment in a few years. However, for the few who are eligible for early interceptive treatment, catching problems early will allow more for more effective, faster, and less invasive treatment.

Benefits of interceptive treatment include:
  • Providing adequate room for teeth to erupt
  • Encouraging facial symmetry by guiding jaw growth
  • Reducing the risk of trauma to protruding teeth
  • Minimizing or eliminating the need for tooth removal
  • Allowing for shorter treatment times
If your child is seven or older, we encourage you to schedule a screening to catch any potential problems early. Contact Agoura Orthodontics today to schedule a screening appointment.

TMJ Treatment

Temporomandibular joint disorders sadly impact millions of Americans. TMJ disorders’ most common symptoms include chronic facial and neck pain. As you can imagine, experiencing pain continuously can make day-to-day life difficult for those who experience TMJ disorders.

The temporomandibular joints are responsible for the connection from the lower jawbone to the skull. These joints are in constant movement as you perform activities such as eating, speaking, swallowing, and even yawning. If these joints become injured, the movement will likely turn painful and restricted.

The symptoms of temporomandibular disorder to look for include :
  • Jaw pain
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Ear pain and stuffiness
  • Frequent headaches and neck aches
  • Noise when the jaw moves
  • Muscle spasms in the jaw
  • Changes in teeth alignment
  • Limited range of motion
If you experience any of these symptoms or suspect you may be suffering from a TMJ disorder, please contact us for a consultation. We will perform an exam to establish a diagnosis and design a treatment plan to help you alleviate your symptoms. If you are diagnosed with TMD, your treatment plan will not necessarily include braces, we have lots of treatment options that we can recommend depending on your unique situation.
